Soul's awareness of higher guidance, the greater its freedom from the dictates of karma.

Most souls, when entering this world, are not consciously in control of their own destinies. Dimly they understand that the flow of their desires brings them here. Beyond this murky awareness, however, they have no sense of purpose or direction.

Advanced souls are not so limited. They know why they have come, and what they have to do on earth. In attunement with God's will and with inner, soul guidance, they direct their lives and the lives of others toward ever-greater freedom in the Infinite.

Others, too, as they learn to contact the ever-new joy in meditation, rise gradually above gross matter-consciousness into the freedom of Spirit.

The clearer the soul's awareness of higher guidance, the greater its freedom from the dictates of karma. Perfect surrender to God's will is not in any way passive. Great will power and great concentration are needed to attune the mind perfectly. 

Surrender enables the soul to expand its consciousness, like a boundless sphere of light, until it encompasses omnipresence. Blissful soul-expansion brings with it increasing dominion - not only over one's own self, but over all matter.
